NOTES
Catalogue number: MFP 50048 Release date: January 1973 This album reviewed 1972 and included seven new tracks, not taken from the main Hot Hits series. Curiously a spin-off single was also released, containing two of the new recordings: "Puppy Love" / "Ben" (see here). As it is also dated 1973 for tracks which were hits in 1972, it must have been released contemporaneously (or later) with the album, and not beforehand. |
This album is not exactly the same as the mfp edition, but we believe it is a parallel best-of-1972 round-up released in the UK. We know for a fact that the tracks are all from "Hot Hits" albums during 1972. Moreover we believe the label is the creation of Bill Wellings himself, not least because the catalogue number, BW 012, bears his initials! More research needed, as ever...
This is a Canadian edition of the alternative UK compilation, "Top Hits of '72". It carries a credit for BWD in the small print.
