...HITS...
Hits '67 was MFP's first anonymous covers album, containing a selection of current pop hits. It was followed up by another... and another... until Hits '70 arrived at the turn of the decade. These eleven albums were relatively slow in coming - on average nearly four months apart - but seemed to have sold fairly well in the UK and abroad.
A glance at the cover art shows the format in its primitive early state - no saucy models on show, and a succession of variable graphic designs, some of which are fairly lame by later standards. Nonetheless, these LPs were the foundation of the covers LP format, and would lead directly to Hot Hits in 1970. Oh, and need we mention that Elton John appears on the last one? No, I thought not...
